In spring of 2016, the German automaker introduced Spyder open version that is based on the Audi R8 supercar. The motor range also copies R8 in a coupe model supplied by an evil motor. The novelty will be equipped by V10 Plus engine of the same 5.2-liter capacity but the different output. Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus is able to generate 610 horsepower. Technically, the whole power unit is presented by seven-speed S-tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive.
The R8 Spyder V10 Plus version became the most powerful one among the Audi models. The supercar spends 3.3 seconds to accelerate up to 100 km/h. This is 0.3 seconds faster than the standard 540-hp version, and only 0.1 seconds slower than the acceleration time of the coupe with a similar engine. The top speed available for the car is equal to 328 km/h.
The carmakers used carbon material for Spyder V10 Plus creation. As a result, the novelty lost 25 kilograms comparing with the R8 model. The fuel consumption increased from 11.7 l liters to 12.5 l liters per 100 km. The first deliveries of the most powerful Spider car with a sliding roof are scheduled for the end of summer. On German market, the customers can get the novelty paying 210 000 Euros.
