Atelier “Giugiaro” made for the Audi flagship unmanned concept GEA

Design studio Italdesign Giugiaro, owned by the concern Volkswagen, in the framework of the Geneva Motor Show presented a concept car called the GEA, which is the harbinger of a new flagship model Audi. The prototype is drawn under the leadership of former chief designer Wolfgang Egger German mark, which after his discharge from the company in 2013, he joined the “Giugiaro.”

Overall length of the concept car was 5370 mm – 105 mm long wheelbase longer version of the current generation Audi A8. The design of the machines used in aluminum, magnesium and carbon. Such materials, according to engineers, helped keep the weight within two tons.
By design, all-wheel drive vehicle is equipped with four electric motors (two on each axis) with total capacity of 774 horsepower. The maximum speed of the prototype is electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour.

The main feature of the concept is a system of autonomous control. When the machine is operated by a driver, lighting is white in color. As soon as the autopilot turns, optics of the car turn blue.
In addition, for the driver are three special modes, to change the situation in the interior. Business Mode turns the salon in the “office on wheels” by lighting on the ceiling 19-inch LED-screens.
