Conceptual crossover Audi Q8 Concept debuted in Detroit (part 1)

Finally the German car manufacturer Audi has officially unveiled a conceptual prototype of a new flagship SUV Q8 Concept the auto show in Detroit. Serial version of crossover will appear in 2018. Conceptual prototype Audi Q8 Concept is designed to give information on a future brand new full-size flagship SUV. Representatives of the German brand modestly noted that a prototype the same like the production vehicle, created on the concept base, will conquer the premium segment.

Even if we don’t see an abbreviation E-Tron in the title of Audi Q8 Concept, this logo is located on the front bumper of the novelty. It means that this is an electric car. Prototype Audi Q8 Concept is equipped with a hybrid power plant, which includes a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor. All the installation is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and allows generating 443 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.

Acceleration of flagship SUV Audi Q8 Concept from 0 to 100 km / h is 5.4 seconds, and its maximum speed is 250 km / h. Previously reported that the SUV consumes only 2.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, making it one of the most economical cars in the world. The equipment of conceptual crossover includes a set of batteries located in the rear part of the car (17.9 kW / h).
