Previously in the European press you could have heard some rumors that the crossover Audi Q6, in the coupe body style, will be shown to the public in the series in 2013. In early 2012, the Germans even presented several prototypes with a more stretched body which were based on the model of Audi Q5. But debut was officially postponed. As now reported by the Audi officials the five-door model of Audi Q6 will not go public until 2016.
The new five-door crossover Audi Q6 will have a stretched wheelbase, extended track at the front and at the back side of the vehicle, set a little lower roof and other smaller details. With these features new serial Audi Q6 will look sportier than Q5.
Audi Q6 will be built on a modular platform. Its elements will be used in the crossover Audi Q5 and Q7 new generations. The choice range of engines promises to be wide, from the four-cylinder turbo-diesel 2.0 TDI (200-horsepower) to gasoline compressor “Six” 3.0 TFSI (producing over 300 hp). At the base configuration, the model will be available at the all-wheel drive. Though there will be no manual transmissions.
