Audi RS5 has borrowed the engine developed by Porsche Company (part 1)

Audi RS5 of the second-generation can boasts of EA839 motor installed under the hood of the novelty; btw, EA839 is the engine from the Porsche motor line-up. The 2.9-liter V6 engine with a direct fuel injection and a pair of equal-sized turbochargers in the block collapse debuted on the Porsche Panamera hatchback. As for the output, it will make 450 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The previous RS5 model equipped by 4.2 V8 engine has the same power but lower thrust.

There is a big dynamic difference between cars presented two generations. Earlier, a two-door version, provided by a 7-step S tronic transmission, took 4.6 seconds to get 100 km/h, and by now, its successor with eight-band automatics has 3.9 seconds acceleration time. The declared fuel consumption at the mixed cycle makes 8.7 liters per 100 km that is 17% better than the predecessor has.

The loud-voiced exhaust system and 19-inch wheels are included in the basic equipment. The 20-inch alloy wheels and a weakened speed limiter, which let driving at 280 km/h speed, are presented as an option. For the standard configuration, there will be available front six-piston brake calipers and single-piston floating brake caliper. For extra money, the carmakers can offer a carbon fiber roof.
