Audi RS5 Sportback can be launched in the beginning of 2018

According to rumors, RS5 Sportback hatchback will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next year. The hatch RS5 won’t have many differences from Audi RS5 coupe, except the number of doors. The car will also get the front bumper with large air intakes, diffuser and 19-inch wheels. The clearance will be reduced by 20 mm and wheel arches will be expanded by 15 mm. The springs, shock absorbers and steering will be provided by individual settings.

Among the options there will be proposed Dynamic Ride Control chassis available with several modes and an active rear differential. The standard configuration also includes the front six-piston mono-block brake calipers and one piston with a floating bracket at the rear. Most likely, the carbon-ceramic brakes will be removed from the equipment’s list.

The carmakers installed the petrol engine under Audi RS5 Sportback hood. They offered 2.9-liter V6 (EA839) from the new all-corporate line developed by Porsche. The unit has got a direct injection, two turbochargers and inlet and outlet phase shifters. As for the output of the V6 2.9 engine, it is equal to 450 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.
