Audi presented a supercar R8 LMX with laser optics

Audi has unveiled the world’s first production car with laser headlamps. Innovative technology was equipped supercar R8, received an additional prefix to the name of LMX. Limited edition of 99 copies, these car will also differ from conventional models more exclusive design exterior and interior trim. Novelty is available for order in Germany at a price of 210,000 euro and the first customers will receive their cars this summer.

Sports coupe received four laser diodes with a powerful white light having a color temperature of 5500 Kelvin. This optics shines twice more conventional LED headlamps that can increase safety and visibility at night. Responsible for the management of lights special electronic system that activates them at 60 km/h and tracking using sensor cameras for other road users to avoid glare.

Limited sports cars can be distinguished according to the color blue body «Ara Blue», large fixed rear spoiler, black glossy terminal pipes exhaust system, 19-inch alloy wheels and exclusive design carboxylic detail. Car interior sheathed black nappa leather and stitched blue thread. Decorative elements were contrasting accents to match the body, a black stripe in the middle alkantar ceiling, door sill plates with illuminated frosted inserts and carbon fiber. Audi R8 LMX equipped with optional carbon-ceramic brakes and a standard 5.2-liter petrol engine atmospheric V8 FSI. 570-horsepower engine mated to a robotized transmission S Tronic and Quattro.
