Audi will change the assembly technology of vehicles

Recently, representatives of Audi reported that the company plans to implement a completely new machine assembly technology. According to them, in the future the Company plants will become “Smart”. The idea is that instead of a standard assembly line, these enterprises will get separate sections, where, in fact, the production process will be organized. Car spare parts will be transported by special robots.

By the way, at the moment the use of so-called “Long” assembly lines is considered as a standard. Cars on them are equipped with various components in several steps. These conveyors almost never stop. Accordingly, employees must maintain a fast pace of work. This is both good and bad. It is bad because if any employee makes a mistake, in fact, it stops almost the whole enterprise. In other words, it is a payment for the production standardization.

A new approach of Audi implements a different principle. There will be no lines. Instead, the machines will be produced in different sections (separately). As a result, the workers will not be in a hurry. Using this technology, the car production will not be stopped if a worker makes a mistake. The number of produced cars will be increased. In addition, the number of employees in the individual sections will be reduced (if compare with the work on the assembly line). It is also expected that the production rate will be increased.
